Mirror-like surface for your car!

Hi all! This time, I will show you how to make turn your car from full of scratches to mirror-like surface & glassy smooth look and feel.

First, wash the dirty car thoroughly before claying.
You can see the scratches clearly after washing.
Sanding in progress.. If you have heart attack, you better dont look at the process. Basically, sanding process will sand to flatten the paint surface, remove scratches, flatten out orange peel along with minor pot holes, which are called "fish eyes," within the paint. Imagine you use sand paper on your car. *Please let expert handle it.

Difference before & after sanding.

Close-up look at the difference.

After sanding, we start to polishing to make it glassy look.

Difference before & after polishing.

Close-up look at the difference between after polish & before.
Done. You can look at the reflection from the roof.
Another view after done!!
That's all for now. Will post more next time. Thanks for your time.

Do you really need to take care your car?

Of course YES. What are the worst senario can happen if you neglect your car for long time? Not to scare, your car will premature paint failure, rusty, interior's deteriorate and decrease selling or trade-in value. Most important is you lost the touch between you and your car. In my own term, car should be treated as wife if not best friends. It drives you to office and back, drive you to date with your love one, drive you to clinic or hospital if emergency, etc... Car should be treated fairly no matter it's new or old.

With a little touch each week if not day, just a normal car wash preferably own wash with car wax will turn your car from from old and dirty to new. Most important it will protect your car paint against sun, rain, dirts, etc. Imagine if you want to sell your car, the dealer or buyer will make first judgement based on the exterior of your car then follow by interior and mechanical part. If condition is good, it will have better trade-in value if it is still original paint (OEM) paint. Otherwise, repaint is inevitably needed which incur extra cost and lower the trade value.

In summary, I always advise everyone the need to take care cars. The best is taking care yourself, if not, you should send to professional auto detailer to maintain your car. Car should be treated fairly and you will enjoy riding them. Believe me... :)

Promotion at POSH CAR CARE / AUTODETAILER

Its been quite sometime that I did not update the blog. Anyway, I heard a lot on our promotion for 3-steps polish & wax is too low to believe. Many customer asked if we are REALLY using Meguiar's product to polish and wax or skip one polish step in order to meet promotion price.

The truth fact is NO! We DONT skip any process or use other product to meet our promotion price!!!! Every process is so important that we will do it properly in order to give our best quality to customer. And of course, we use Meguiars only to do polish and wax as we are a Master Dealer for Meguiars. Like I always telling customer, I'll be glad or appreciate if customer would spend more time in our shop and see the whole process how we do the job.

So, how we can give such cheap promotion while other cant give?? Easy, its depending on individual cost calculation to run business. Every business or company has their own monthly commitment like shop rental, worker's salary, material cost, machine repair, etc.... For some shop located at high rental location or have more workers, the operating cost will higher and inevitably translate this to customer. For us, we have calculated our cost and we know exactly our cost to run our business. Thus, we know exactly the limit of promotion we can give.

In future, please dont worry about our promotion and doubt our service, product use and quality. We assured that we are giving 100% our best service and quality to customer. If anyone unsatisfied, please inform us immediately and we promise to refund the money you paid for our service.

Watermark Problem?

I know there are many out there screaming for help why watermark formed all over their car.

Hey, believe me, you're not the only one out there!

So, why watermark formed?? Well, it forms after acidic rain drops on paintwork and left under the hot sun for a period of time. As rain dries up, acidic compound in the droplet tends to react with paintwork. If left them for longer period, it will corrodes into the primer and even polishes cant even remove it.

So, how to remove them??? YES.....you're RIGHT.... POLISHING!! Absolutely, polishing is able to remove the watermarks BUT, depending on the seriousness. If not too serious (just surface etching), polishing will have no problem to remove them. BUT if it's serious (etched to the primer), we might need to sand paper the affected area to remove them. Otherwise, you might need to repaint your whole car! Sounds scary...

So, ladies and gentleman, please take a good care of your car!! :)

How to prevent water spots from coming back? This is a tough questions. There are two important things you can do to help prevent water spots from coming back.

1) Remove water before it can dry and potentially leave a water spot. Or, you may park your car under shed to prevent droplet.
2) Maintain a good coat of wax on all the painted surfaces. In our shop, we use Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax and Gold Class Wax to protect your car.

Thats all for now! CYA....

Polish Vs Wax

A lot people asking me these questions:

- what is polish?
- what is wax?
- are they same?
- which one better?
- when do i need to polish / wax?
- etc....etc....

OK. Many people confuse between polish and wax. Anyway, I found a website that provides you the overview the meaning for both.

IT'S ..... WIKIPEDIA. The website as follow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto_detailing

So, I'm not going to discuss abt them here to save time and avoid plagiarism. hehe.....*lazy to copy and paste.

So, now you guys know what is polish and wax. Next question: When do i need to polish my car? The answer is quite subjective though. Some people waiting for their car full of scratches / swirl mark /water marks or paint become dull before deciding to polish. But I really don't encourage that way. Its because the scratches / watermarks will accumulating and cause oxidation and rusting to the paint. It maybe too late for for polish to eliminate them but repaint job taking over. So, my advice for the polishing job is 3 to 6 months. Of course its depending on your car condition. Some people may require to polish every 2 or 3 months because of heavy usage (due to on the road scratches /car wash) while some people rarely use their car which does not even need to polish their car in 1 year. To me, the rules of thumb to polish is you may need to polish them when you see the scratches / swirl mark / watermarks accumulating to the level that you want them to look as NEW. :)

For waxing, my advice is every 1 - 3 months. The purpose of wax is to protect your paint and keep it from forming "Oxidation". Besides, it can restore your car's color from becoming dull.

I think thats all for now. CYA

Snow wash VS Car shampoo

Lots of people been asking me this question. Why I dont use snow wash?

Maybe I try to google "snow wash"? Hehe.... See what I can find.
..
..
..
..
The answer is : YES. No specific definition for snow wash. As we know, foam is used instead of soap to wash car. And, I couldn't find an answer whether snow wash or car shampoo is good or bad. Anyhow, I found a website in Australia using "FOAM WASH" to wash car. I think this is REAL SNOW WASH! The website is http://www.nerta.com.au/. They wash WITHOUT cloths or sponges. Hey! purely water jet only. I really have doubt in this method. Sure or not? The photo in this website is pretty much looked like photoshopped.

Nevertheless, none of the Professional Auto-Detailer in overseas or even local using SNOW WASH to wash customer car afterall (er, maybe they are some that I dont know, sorry ar!). WHYx3?? Well, below are the suggestive reasons why they dont use SNOW WASH.

1) Still need hands to wash. Why snow wash better???
2) Its corrosive and bad to clear coat as high concentration soap is used to produce lots of foam. (Of course there are some car washer out there mixing at the right ratio)
3) Some areas easily miss out as dirts covered by snow that can't be seen (I'm quite agree on this though)
4) Introduce scratches on the paint if not waterjet properly before wash (Cloth scrubs with dirts on the surface will caused scratches)
5) Foam are easily to dry out and leaves foam marks on the surface.
6) Its slow (Don't believe? haha....its true though. Lets say 1 - 2 mins time is needed to spray the snow on the whole car, those using car shampoo have washed, lets say, half a car already, right?)
7) Between foam (buih) and liquid shampoo (air sabun), which one you prefer to wash your car? (you decide...)
8) Car shampoo is more expensive than snow wash (haha...sounds sarcastic)
9) I think there are others that i cant think of.

Frankly, I dont mean that snow wash is bad afterall. At least it really looks like a real snow and it looks real COOL!! OK, cut it out. If using proper and correct way of washing, your car can be shiny too. ;)

To me, the best washing car method is using 2 buckets system which 1 bucket for clean water for rinsing and another bucket for car shampoo. This is the standard Meguiar's way of washing car. This way will minimize causing swirl marks on the paint which keep your car shine and least swirl marks.

For those car lovers out there, please check your car wash centre on how they wash your car. I dont mean to discourage to wash in snow wash centre, but at least see how they wash before let them do the job. If using wrong method, you might be need to polish your car every month to get rid the swirl and scratches on your car. hehe...

CHEERS!!
